China Mobile to Launch Eight Motorola OPhones in 2010

Chinese mobile operator China Mobile plans to launch eight OPhone Smartphones manufactured by Motorola in 2010, Reuters reported on October 13. OPhone is a low-cost mobile platform developed by Marvell Technology of the United States. Aside from Motorola, major PC vendor Dell has begun tapping the OPhone platform seeking to make inroads into the mobile phone market. Details as to the China Mobile-Motorola deal have not been disclosed, though. In addition to China Mobile in China, Marvell Technology said that AT&T has approved the use of OPhone on its network in the United States, according to the Reuters report.
